Area Election Results

Tuesday was Election Day across the nation. Many eyes were on the heated races in Waverly. As results rolled in it became clear that it was not a good night to be an incumbent as they all lost their seats. In the mayoral race Adam Hoffman unseated Dean Soash 53% to 47%. For Council At-Large Matthew Schneider edged Edith Waldstein 51% to 49%. In Ward 4 it was Heather Beaufore unseating Mike Sherer 54% to 45%. In a race of two newcomers in Ward 2 Kris Glaser beat Mike Hangartner 58% to 41%.

Other contested races throughout Bremer County turned out like this: In Denver 2 At Large City Council spots went to Mark Richmann and Jeremie J. Peterson. In Sumner 2 At Large City Council spots went to Brock Rettinger and George Heying. Three Janesville School Director At Large positions went to Teresa Gergen, Barbara Reid and Jodi Durnil. Wapsie Valley School Director from District 4 went to Jerry Van Daele.

In Black Hawk County Rob Green won the Cedar Falls Mayorship over Jim Brown and Jim Skaine. Michael Schares won his mayoral race against Edward Jessen in Dunkerton. In the race for mayor in Gilbertville it was Mark Thome coming away with the win.

In Butler County Kenneth Smith won the vote for mayor in Clarksville, beating William Doty nad Kai Trevor Brost. William Christensen won the mayoral race in Greene knocking off Daniel Rocky Barros.
