Thursday in the UNI-Dome football champions were crowned. In 8-man Remsen St. Mary’s beat WACO 38-16 to win their 3rd championship and their 2nd in 3 years. In Class A in a rematch of last year’s title game Grundy Center shutout West Hancock 27-0 to win their first State Championship. The Spartans had been to the championship game four years in a row. In Class 4A in a rematch of last year’s triple-overtime thriller Xavier got revenge on Lewis Central 45-38 to win their 4th championship.
Classes 2A, 1A and 5A will play for titles Friday in the UNI-Dome.
