Compost Facility Reopens After Fire

The Cedar Falls Seasonal Compost Facility will reopen Friday after a brush fire forced its closure earlier this week, according to KWWL. Barriers and signs will be put in place to direct traffic to an unaffected portion of the facility as it reopens at noon today. It will stay open until 8:00 Friday night. The facility will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Monday it will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Cedar Falls residents with respiratory sensitivities are still asked to stay inside as the smoke from the fire drifted into the downtown and residential areas of Cedar Falls. The smoke is expected to dissipate in the coming days. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
