France to Honor Waterloo WWII Veteran

A Waterloo man will be honored Saturday afternoon at the Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum in Waterloo for his role in the liberation of France. 91-year-old Glen McClain will receive the French Legion of Honor in an effort by the French government to recognize living World War II Veterans. McClain was one of few survivors of his unit when his landing craft hit a mine during the D-Day landings in the early morning hours of June 6th, 1944.
