Wednesday night on KWAY Country Waverly-Shell Rock won a 9-3 thriller over Webster City to return to the State Baseball Tournament for the fourth time under Coach Casey Klunder. The Go-Hawks and Lynx were tied 3-3 at the end of 7 inning. In the top of the 9th the Go-Hawks knocked the Webster City starting pitcher out of the game and put up 6 runs against two relievers.
The Go-Hawks will play Wednesday at 11:00 at Duane Banks Field in Iowa City. Waverly-Shell Rock is the 5-seed and will face 4-seeded Central DeWitt. Pregame on KWAY Country AM 1470 FM 96.3 starts at 10:45.
