Man Arrested After Crashing into Home

Waterloo Police have arrested 24-year-old Montavis Keller, of Waterloo, on a number of traffic charges, including operating while intoxicated, after the car he was driving crashed into a Waterloo home on Tuesday afternoon.

Waterloo police say the chase started when an officer tried to pull over a reckless driver. The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office picked up the chase as it moved toward city limits on LaFayette Street.

Police say the driver swerved to avoid stop sticks and lost control, crashing into a home at 2312 LaFayette Street, severing the electrical and gas line and sparking a small fire. No one in the home was injured.
