Monday night on Y99.3 Waterloo Columbus swept Sumner-Fredericksburg in a pair of close games. The Sailor girls won 37-33 as Reagan Lindsay lead the way with 11 points. The boys game went to overtime where Carter Gallagher hit the game winner with 2 seconds left to give Columbus the win 42-41. Sumner-Fredericksburg’s Peyton Schmitz led all scorers with 15 points.
In other area girls basketball Valley Lutheran beat Phoenix Christian of Arizona 57-38, AGWSR upset Clarksville 55-47, Central City edged Dunkerton 38-33, Aplington-Parkersburg clipped Union 35-31 and Dike-New Hartford beat Wapsie Valley 69-34.
In boys basketball: Central City topped Dunkerton 48-38, Janesville beat Gladbrook-Reinbeck 62-50, Don Bosco got by Tripoli 63-44, Aplington-Parkersburg hammered Union 82-40, AGWSR slammed Clarksville 78-30 and Wapsie Valley beat Dike-New Hartford 57-42.
