Waverly-Shell Rock senior Brady Ramker will be the male representative of the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association Scholarship for 2021. Brady will be recognized at the IHSADA banquet at the end of this month in Coralville, IA. Ramker is the first Go-Hawk to win this $500 scholarship since Peyton Stensland in 2011.

Thursday night on Y99.3 the Iowa Hawkeye men demolished Nebraska 102-64. Iowa guard Jordan Bohannon led the Hawks with 26 points and a career high 8 3-pointers in the blowout win. #5 Iowa improves to 19-7 on the season. Iowa will finish the regular season at 11:30 Sunday versus Wisconsin on Y99.3.
Thursday night the Iowa State men lost another Big 12 game 81-54 to 12th ranked Texas Tech. The Cyclones are 0-17 in conference play.
Thursday in the first round of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament the UNI men topped Illinois State 65-60. Former Go-Hawk Austin Phyfe led all scorers with 21 points and 9 rebounds in the win. Phyfe was also named a 1st Team Scholar Athlete for the second straight year Thursday.

Wednesday night in women’s basketball former Go-Hawk Payton Draper scored 18 points to lead #4 Wartburg over Loras 50-42. That was the regular season finale with just the American Rivers Conference Tournament remaining on the schedule.
Wednesday the UNI cross country team finished fifth in both the men’s and women’s team rankings at the Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championship, hosted by Evansville. The men posted 124 points and the women posted 129 points.
Tuesday night in boys basketball Cedar Falls crushed Cedar Rapids Washington 57-28 to earn a trip to the State Tournament next week. Chase Courbat and Landon Wolf each scored 18 points for the Tigers in the win.
