Local Girls Doing Well
Thursday was Day 1 of Girls State Golf. In Class 2A Sumner-Fredericksburg’s Chloe Bolte leads the field by four strokes after firing a 75. In Class 3A in Cedar Falls a score of 80 has Brenna Bodensteiner of Waverly-Shell Rock in a tie for 5th. The final day of State Golf is Friday.
Denver Falls a Win From State
Thursday night in Regional Championship Soccer on Y99.3 the Hudson girls edged Denver 1-0 in overtime to advance to State in Class 1A. The Cyclones end the year 16-2.
17th State Trip for W-SR Girls
Thursday night on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock girls soccer team punched their ticket to State by beating the 12th ranked Xavier Saints 5-0. Wednesday night the Waterloo Columbus boys soccer team beat Hudson 3-1 to advance to State. The Sailors got goals from Simeon Hasselbrook, Gavin Reed and John Pranger in the Sub-State Championship win. The Sailors will play Tuesday in Des Moines on Y99.3.
