Storage Unit Theft Leads to High Speed Chase

Two people were arrested last week after stealing a vehicle and attempting to break into a storage unit, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Police were called to All Season Self Storage on Logan Avenue on Monday on a report that two people were trying to steal a motorcycle inside a unit. When police arrived on scene the alleged perpetrators, later identified as Justin Meyer and Brittany Davis, fled in a truck. That truck had been reported stolen from the Hilpipre Auction Company earlier in the day. The pursuit reached speeds in excess of 100mph before coming to an end when Meyer crashed into a garage. Meyer attempted to flee on foot but was quickly taken into custody. He has been charged with Interference With Official Acts, Eluding, first degree Theft, third degree Burglary, Driving While Suspended and Trespassing. Davis was charged with third degree Burglary and Trespassing.
