Wednesday night on Y99.3 it was a Bremer County Battle at the State Tournament as Wapsie Valley downed 4x defending State Champion Janesville. The scores were 25-23, 25-19, 16-25 and 25-14. Janesville finishes the year 33-12. Wapsie Valley will play Holy Trinity Thursday night in the Class 1A Semi-Finals. Prematch at 5:40 with first serve at 6:00 on Y99.3. The winner of Thursday night’s match will play either North Tama or Sidney for a championship.
The semi-finals are set in all classes. In Class 2A it’s Western Christian vs. Osage and Beckman vs. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows. In Class 3A it’s Union vs. Mt. Vernon and Kuemper vs. Red Oak. In Class 4A it’s Sergeant Bluff-Luton vs. West Delaware and Western Dubuque vs. Marion. And in Class 5A it’s Cedar Falls vs. Ankeny and Pleasant Valley vs. Valley of West Des Moines.
