Waterloo Warming Center Closed

The warming center at Jubilee United Methodist Church in Waterloo will be forced to close its doors however not as soon as first thought. It will be allowed to stay open as long as a new location is being looked for. The Jubilee location only recently opened its doors to those with nowhere else to go in the dead of winter. However, it was found to have too few fire safety features, rendering it unsafe. Four new locations are currently being considered. They are the former S and J Construction offices on Sycamore Street, the former Hawkeye Center on West Fourth Street, within the county courthouse, or even in the jail.
