The Waterloo West High School science teacher that was put on administrative leave after a controversial social media post aimed at Swedish teenage activist Greta Thunberg has resigned his position, effective immediately, according to KWWL. Matt Baish was replying to a post made by Mason Severson of Waterloo that asked who would be attending Thunberg’s appearance in Iowa City back on October 4th. Baish said, “dont have my sniper rifle.” Waterloo Schools said in a release that they are working to ensure that classroom instruction continues for the courses impacted by Baish’s departure.
