The following in a press release from the Cedar Falls Police:
Black Hawk County Consolidated Dispatch received a call at 2:07 PM today reporting an audible, internal “Active Shooter” alarm at the Viking Pump facility at 711 W. Viking Road in Cedar Falls. The caller did not have additional information but advised that they were evacuating all employees.
Cedar Falls Police responded to this report of an active shooter along with several other law enforcement agencies. Employees were evacuated, a perimeter was established, and multiple law enforcement teams began a primary search of the building. Management of the business accounted for all employees and a secondary search was conducted with law enforcement and maintenance personnel so that they could access all areas of the large factory.
There was no shooter located and no injuries reported. There is no threat to the public.The cause of the alarm is under investigation by Viking Pump Management and Cedar Falls Police Investigators.
