The Cedar Falls City Council has voted to allow the current mask mandate to expire at midnight Wednesday night. The mandate, which was first put into place on September 8th, required anyone within city limits to wear a face covering in public settings when they could not remain six feet away from others. The City is reminding citizens that if they prefer to continue to wear a mask they can feel free to do so. They also acknowledge that private businesses, schools, universities, libraries, and organizations may still have their own mask mandates in place that need to be adhered to.
