Union Middle School Principal Mark Albertsen is reportedly on leave, believed to be connected to the school district’s handling of a, now former, teacher’s inappropriate email exchange with at least two students. Earlier this week the school board allowed middle school science teacher Mark Hookham to resign after an investigation found that his email conversations with two students were inappropriate. The first complaint about Hookham came from a student’s parents back in December. It was not until recently that action was taken, however. An interim principal is in place.
