W-SR Voters Say ‘Yes’

The special election held within the Waverly Shell Rock School District to determine if two new elementary schools will be built and upgrades made to the Shell Rock school and the high school has passed. Voters in Bremer and Black Hawk Counties voted yes by a margin of 71% to 29%. In Butler County it was an even larger win for the yes votes, 79% to 21%. In total 72% voted yes compared to 28% no. The measure needed 60% to pass. Voter turnout was just short of 20%, with just under 2,000 voting. Results will become official on March 15th.
