Waterloo Police engaged in two chases that reached speeds of over 100 mph on Sunday, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. In the first one, a patrol officer attempted to pull over a Lincoln Towncar at around 6:00 a.m. because they believed to the driver to be driving with a barred license. The Towncar allegedly refused to stop and reached speeds of more than 100 mph as it headed out of town. It eventually stopped in a farm field and the driver, later identified as 51 year old Dylane Braun, attempted to flee on foot but was Tased and taken into custody. He has been charged with Eluding, Interference, and Driving While Barred. His bond has been set at $12,000. A little more than 12 hours later an officer allegedly spotted a Ford Edge run a red light at West Eighth and South Streets. Again, when the officer tried to pull the vehicle over it refused and allegedly sped away. The Edge eventually got onto Highway 218 where it was weaving in and out of traffic at 120 mph. The driver, 25 year old Aaron Dungey III, made his way to his home where he fled inside, but police followed him in and arrested him. Police also found a two year old child, allegedly improperly buckled in their car seat, in the backseat. Dungey was charged with felony Eluding, Child Endangerment, and Interference. His bond was set at $9,600.
