Two Waterloo Police Officers were shot and the suspect is dead after an altercation Sunday morning, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Police were called to the 200 block of Manson Street around 8:20am on a report of a man with a gun. They caught up with the man in the area of East Fourth and Cottage Streets. Details of what happened have not yet been released but the unnamed suspect allegedly shot the officers. The suspect died of a gunshot wound, but it is still unclear if he was shot by police or if it was a self inflicted gunshot. The officers were taken to Allen Hospital where they underwent surgery and are expected to survive. Their names have not been released either.
