2nd Arrest in “I Love You” Robbery

A second arrest has been made in what investigators say was staged robbery at a Family Dollar in Waterloo last December, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Last Wednesday police arrested 27 year old Markez Fox and charged him with second degree Theft. According to police, Fox’s girlfriend, 25 year old Michaela Bush, worked at the Family Dollar but hated it and planned to quit the job. The couple is alleged to have hatched a plan to take the store’s money. As part of the plan Fox entered the store around 9:45 a.m. on December 30th of last year wearing a mask. He handed an alleged robbery note to Bush, who handed over nearly $3,700. Fox then got a ride back to Bush’s home where they later split the proceeds. When the robbery note was recovered investigators found that it read “I love you.” Bush was charged with second degree Theft in June. She will go to trial in January.
