Three people have been arrested for allegedly stealing items from Scheels and then attempting to return them in exchange for a gift card, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Cedar Falls Police say 34 year old Brandi Jensen and 38 year old James Madison entered the store on September 14th at which point Jensen placed items in her purse and the pair left the store without paying. Then, 32 year old Jordan Carey took possession of the goods and entered the store and returned the items for a gift card for $182. Police stopped Carey as she left the store. When police approached Madison he allegedly pointed a can of pepper spray at the officer. The trio was charged with Organized Retail Theft with Madison also being charged with Assault on an Officer. Madison and Carey are already awaiting trial for allegedly taking a fountain pop last September from a Kwik Star and claiming to have paid for it on an app and for allegedly taking items from Menard’s in June and July.
