Three individuals from the Cedar Valley were among 600 volunteers workers who were recognized by Governor Kim Reynolds for outstanding volunteer service. These three were honored with awards for 10 years of service to the Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) in Bremer County. The volunteer counselors provided free counseling and information to individuals with questions about Medicare, Medicare supplement insurance, Prescription Drug Plans and claim filings.
One of the recipients of that award, Linda Pruin of Clarksville, shares how she feels about volunteering for so long:
The other two volunteers recognized where Sharon Jahnke and Bruce Coleman, both of Waverly.
