3rd Positive Test in Bremer Co

The third positive test for COVID-19 in Bremer County has been reported. Just like the previous two we know very little about the person. It is unclear who the person is, what condition they are in, where they are, or who they have been around. The state of Iowa is expected to see the number of positive tests, hospitalizations, and deaths continue to rise over the next couple of weeks before the virus peaks. People are asked to continue to stay home, wash hands frequently, and avoid touching their face. If they do need to go out, avoid gatherings of more than 10 people, stay at least 6 feet away from each other, and wear a mask covering the nose and mouth if possible.

UPDATE:

Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community has confirmed via a message to residents and families that the positive case is a resident. That person is in the hospital. Bartels has notified public health officials and is following all the guidelines from the CDC, Iowa Department of Public Health and Bremer County Emergency Management.
