A portion of 4th Street SW in Waverly will be closing Wednesday, July 1. Phase 2 of the reconstruction includes the closure of the section from 8th Avenue SW to the Burger King and Hoppy’s Auto Parts joint driveway. Trucks will need to follow the formal detour route as they will now be able to make the turn from 4th Street SW onto 8th Street SW. All vehicles are asked to avoid the area as much as possible and to use the Cedar River Parkway/10th Avenue SW detour route. Phase 1 is still taking place on the southeast corner of the intersection at 8th Avenue SW by Harlington Cemetery however enough work has been completed to begin Phase 2.
