High winds whipped through Heritage Days in Waverly on Saturday, injuring at least five in the process. Around noon straight line winds collapsed the beer tent at the fairgrounds as well knocking down branches throughout the town. Five injuries were reported however those injuries were not thought to be serious. The winds hit the fairgrounds before the crowds had been able to shift from the parade, which had been moved up to 10 due to the heat.
Despite the high winds and damage the show went on Saturday with bands and fireworks. The Pork Tornadoes as the headliners of Saturday night.
