An Ankeny man has been arrested for an incident that happened in Waverly back in December. 35 year old Zachariah Sidney has been charged with 2nd degree Sex Abuse. According to the Waverly Police Department the allegation includes a forcible sex act against the victim’s will. A struggle also took place leading to the victim being strangled, however, they were able to escape the situation. Police were not able to track Sidney down immediately but a search of his residence turned up potential items of evidence. Sidney subsequently confessed to the crime. He is being held in the Bremer County Jail.
