An Iowa State Patrol trooper was injured in an crash in Chickasaw County on Friday, according to KIMT. Shaw Wuchter of Mason City was attempting a u-turn for a traffic stop on Highway 63 when he was struck on the drivers side by a vehicle driven by Riley Maas of Ottumwa. Both drivers were hurt in the collision. Wuchter was taken to MercyOne New Hampton Medical Center while Maas was taken to Regional Health Services of Howard County. The crash is currently under investigation.
