In the wake of the Orlando shootings last weekend, the nations blood banks are seeing a rise in donations and a Cedar Valley community is giving a unique benefit for blood donors. The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center is teaming with Cedar Rapids authorities to forgive traffic tickets in exchange for a blood donation. If you have a Cedar Rapids parks ticket that was issued in the last 30 days, and the ticket is under $25, the City will forgive the ticket in exchange for your blood donation. City officials hope this gesture inspires more people to do something for their fellow man.
