Cedar Falls has extended its mask mandate until January 20th. The mandate requires those within city limits to wear a face covering in public settings when they are unable to maintain at least 6 feet distance from others. That includes on public transportation or private car services. Children under the age of five and those with medical hindrance are exempt. Masks do not need to be worn if you are in a car by yourself, with other household members, while exercising at a moderate or high level, while eating or drinking while seated at a food establishment, while obtaining a service that would temporarily require removing the mask, or if a law requires the removal of the mask.
