Murderer Dies of COVID-19 in Prison

A man convicted of murder in Black Hawk County has died in prison due to COVID-19 and other pre-existing conditions, according to KWWL. 72 year old Robert Taylor was pronounced dead around 8:45 Sunday night at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Taylor was serving a life sentence for first degree murder after he shot his wife in the back of the head and killed her in 1979. He was incarcerated at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center. He is the 17th inmate to suffer a COVID-19 related death.
