Waterloo Mask Mandate Extended

Waterloo’s mask mandate has been extended indefinitely, according to KWWL. Councilman Johnathan Grieder initially proposed the mandate be extended by 12 weeks, however the decision was made to leave the end date open. The council also gave Mayor Quentin Hart authority to end the mask mandate when he sees fit. Mayor Hart, however, by stating that the council, the city’s COVID-19 response team, and the county health department would be involved in any decision to end the mask mandate. The mandate passed unanimously.
