The Bremer County Health Department is making changes to the vaccine allocation and distribution strategies for the county. Beginning Monday those 16-64 years old with underlying conditions became eligible to receive the vaccine, significantly expanding the amount of people eligible for the vaccine. The county anticipates that it will continue to be allocated 400 doses per week to be divided between four different vaccine providers. Healthcare providers and pharmacies will determine their own process for offering available vaccine to their patients. The providers will continue to reach out to patients to schedule vaccine appointments. Pharmacies participating in the Retail Pharmacy Program will continue to offer the vaccine on a first come, first serve basis to all eligible populations.
