The bench trial of a Cedar Falls man who allegedly attacked a teenage babysitter continued Wednesday, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Public Safety Officer Javier Mercado testified that they found pictures of the babysitter and the child she was watching on 45 year old Saul Vasquez’s phone despite Vasquez saying he had not taken photos of the two. Mercado went on to say the photos appeared to be taken from Vasquez’s front yard. The babysitter earlier testified that Vasquez had called her over after the child went inside to get some water and watch TV. He then grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his home where he groped her and kissed her against her will. He also tried to remove her clothing. She eventually was able to escape and call police. Vasquez told an ever evolving story according to Public Safety Officers who also said he took over an hour to come to the door when they arrived to question him. The state rested its case Wednesday.
