A Waterloo man has been sentenced to prison time after being found with ammunition and counterfeit pills, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 36 year old Bradley McMahan was sentenced on Friday to five years and three months in prison on a charge fo possession of ammunition by a drug user and a felon. He will also have to serve a three year term of supervised release. McMahan was pulled over on October 21st 2019. During a search of his vehicle a glass pipe, more than 7 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale and cash were found. A search three days later of his home found a stolen gun safe with 20 rounds of .223 ammunition, a single .22 caliber round, and a large amount of pills labeled as Xanax. The more than 1,100 pills were found to contain the usual active ingredient alprazolam as well as flualprazolam, a tranquilizer not cleared for medical use in the United States. Six of the pills also tested positive for meth. McMahan was barred from possessing ammunition after an OWI in Bremer County in 2017.
