An Evansdale man has been arrested for allegedly impersonating a sheriff’s deputy, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 44 year old Jason Settle is accused of calling and leaving messages for a woman who has a restraining order against him. Settle called at least seven times from different phone numbers and on at least two occasions tried to disguise his voice when he stated that he was Deputy Harris and the woman needed to come to the police station to talk. Settle was charged with impersonating a public official and violation of a no contact order. His bond has been set at $9,000. Settle is also awaiting trial for leaving messages for the same woman back in February.
