A Drive In Theater may be coming to the Cedar Valley, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Tarelle Hoskins presented the idea of developing the theater on the National Cattle Congress grounds in Waterloo to a planning commission. After being unanimously passed by the planning commission it will now head to the Waterloo Board of Adjustment on April 27th. The plan is to show two movies every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night on a 50 foot inflatable screen, using an industrial projector. The site is expected to hold 150-250 cars per showing, which will be spaced apart to allow for social distancing. There is no plan to install permanent structures for food and drink options, but temporary spots could be available for vendors. There may be laser shows and fireworks shows to accompany the movies as well. It is unclear what the admission would be at this point.
