Murderer Dies in Prison

A convicted murderer out of Black Hawk County has died in prison, according to KWWL. 80 year old Ronald Brown was pronounced dead at 9:35 Wednesday morning from an apparent suicide at the Clarinda Correctional Facility. Brown was serving a life sentence which began on October 31, 1983. He and another man, Jay Hollins, were convicted of killing Waterloo attorney Alvin Davidson outside the Russell Lamson Hotel, which is now an apartment building. Davidson was shot once by a twelve gauge shotgun. Brown’s death is being investigated, as all inmate suicides are.
