A man charged in connection with the 2020 shooting death of a Waterloo teenager may argue he was acting in self defense, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 34 year old Andre Collier has been charged with felon in possession of a firearm and flight to avoid prosecution in a case where 15 year old Cortez Harrison was shot to death in an alley near Gates Park. Days after the shooting Collier was detained in Haltom City, Texas. Nobody has been charged specifically with the shooting death of Harrison but witnesses say Collier fired several shots. Collier also received a gunshot wound in the exchange of gunfire.
