Wild Woman Flees Hospital, Breaks Into Homes

A Cedar Falls woman has been arrested after running away from a hospital and breaking into several homes, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 35 year old Amanda Casey walked away from the Allen Hospital emergency room Monday morning. A short time later she kicked in the door of an apartment on West Dale Street and held a large butcher knife over her head as she told the resident she needed help because the police were after her. She then dropped the knife and ran off. She next punched through a window in a door at a home on West Airline Highway, injuring her arm and leaving blood all over the porch. While in the home she took off her shorts and wrapped a curtain around herself and left. She then broke into a home on Ackermant Street where police found her bleeding on the couch and arrested her. She has been charged with carrying weapons, second degree burglary, and two counts each of fourth degree criminal mischief and trespassing. She also was on parole for a meth related charge.
