Hudson Expulsion Upheld

The state Board of Education has upheld the expulsion of a Hudson student who threatened to shoot up the school, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. The student was suspended for the end of the school year last year after an investigation found that the student had sent a private Snapchat message threatening the school. Officials ultimately determined the student had no access to a gun. The expulsion will now continue through this school year. The student’s mother asked for a reduction in discipline, such as a transfer to an alternative school or a semester long expulsion, however the board upheld the original punishment.
