Rivers Rise in Cedar Valley

Due to heavy rains upstream many of the area rivers and streams are nearing or are at flood levels. The Cedar River in Waverly is sitting just short of flood level which is 12 feet. The river was expected to crest at 6:00 Monday morning. The Cedar River in Janesville is expected to reach the minor flood stage while the Little Cedar River in Nashua and points to the north is in the major flood stage, nearing record high levels. The Wapsipincon River near Tripoli is also in the major flood stage, also nearing a record high level. The Shell Rock River in Shell Rock is not expected expected to reach flood levels but is elevated.
