Charlie and Izzy Come Home

Koula Kramer has provided another update on her son, Charlie, the Waverly Shell Rock freshman who suffered a stroke a couple weeks ago. The most notable part of the update is that Charlie is home. He is still struggling with inflammation, for which he has been prescribed medication. He also remains unable to communicate verbally, however, he begins speech therapy today. That will continue five days a week for an hour every day. Interestingly Charlie is able sing because singing uses the right side of the brain which was untouched by the stroke. Koula posted this update on her Facebook page, we have also shared it on our Facebook page if you would like to see the entire update.

The Waverly girl struck by a car this Summer, Izzy Luck, will be returning home. Lyndsi Luck shared on her Facebook page that there will be a party to welcome Izzy home. That party will be held on Monday afternoon from 3-5 at the South Riverside Park. Lyndsi says this is an open invitation for anyone who would like to great Izzy. There will be cake as long as it lasts. Lyndsi asks that if you have an Izzy shirt that you wear it to the party. She also suggests bringing a lawn chair as well as bug spray considering the river situation. We have shared Lyndsi Luck’s Facebook post on our Facebook page, KWAY Waverly.
