Waterloo Man Takes Plea Deal

A Waterloo man has taken a plea deal to a string of charges including re-stealing guns that had been returned to their owner after they were previously stolen, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 20 year old Demarrion Oden will spend up to 10 years behind bars for charges of Third and Second Degree Burglary, Carrying Weapons, Assault on a Peace Officer, Interference, and Assault with a Weapon. Oden was suspected of stealing four guns from a hom on West Sixth Street in 2019 but never charged. Three of those guns were found and returned to their owner. Oden then stole the guns again in September of 2020. Earlier that year he had been caught by a home owner unpluggling a television and putting a PlayStation in a bag leading to a scuffle. In July of 2019 he fired a gun at an SUV where the bullet grazed the leg of a woman inside. Another instance of shooting at a vehicle was dropped as part of the plea deal.
