A man who was in prison for robbing a Waterloo store with a knife has escaped work release, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 39 year old Andrew Stephens failed to return to the Waterloo Residential Correctional Facility on Monday. He is described as a white male standing 6 feet tall and weighting around 270 pounds. He was charged with First Degree Robbery after he and another man robbed the 3 Star Mart on May 12th of 2003. Police were forced to fire their weapons in that case before they were able to take the men into custody. No one was injured in the shooting. The other man, Willie Jackson, was sentenced to up to 25 years in prison.
