CF Stand-Off Leads to Police Flushing Suspect Out

Cedar Falls Police were able to make an arrest after more than 6 hours of a standoff Thursday into Friday. Police were called to a location on Longview Street around 11:25pm Thursday. A 911 caller reported being shot and the suspect was in the area in a silver Chevy Silverado. Police witnessed that vehicle pull into the driveway at 216 E. Lake Street. The suspect yelled at police before entering the residence. Police reached the suspect on the phone. The suspect refused to comply with police orders, threatened to shoot police, and made several comments about harming himself. After 6 and a half hours of negotiations, less lethal chemical munitions were deployed, flushing the suspect out of the home and into custody. He was taken to the hospital for an evaluation. Charges are pending. The victim is not cooperating with police at this time.
