A petition on change.org is asking for the Waverly Shell Rock School District to decrease class sizes. The petition points out that only two of the thirty four elementary classrooms are operating at the State of Iowa’s recommendation of seventeen students per class. 26 of those classrooms have more than 20 students. The suggestion put forth by the petition is for the district to rent or buy temporary classrooms and additional teachers be hired. As of this morning the petition has 357 signatures.
