The Fairbank City Council approved the new Police Chief on Monday, according to the Oelwein Daily Register. Dakota Drish was confirmed by a 4-0 vote. He takes over for Mike Everding who passed away from cancer in March. Drish will oversee five part-time officers on the force. There are no full time officers. Drish has been with the force since August of 2020 and has been in law enforcement since 2012. He shares his time with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
