Former Clarksville Police Officer Arrested for Child Sexual Exploitation

A former Clarksville police officer has been arrested on multiple charges of child sexual exploitation, according to the Des Moines Register. Mike Tobin is accused of showing a minor images and videos from a pending criminal case that included nude minors. The alleged victim reported the incident to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office on March 4th. The Clarksville City Council voted to fire Tobin on April 1st but later rescinded their termination and accepted Tobin’s resignation. At the time Councilwoman Wendy Brooks said, “…it felt good to finally clarify and rectify Michael Tobin’s employment status with the city of Clarksville.” Tobin faces three felony charges of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and eight aggravated misdemeanor charges of Sexual Exploitation of a minor.
