A Cedar Falls man has been arrested for robbing the Metro Mart and two hotels. Police were called to the Hilton Garden Inn on Nordic Drive at 3:55am on Tuesday on a report of a man dressed in dark clothing robbing the front desk. While officers investigating that crime a call came in that a person fitting the same description had just robbed the Super 8 Motel also on Nordic Drive. The suspect was then spotted walking westbound along West Ridgeway Avenue. When officers approached him he discarded a bat and took off running. He was eventually taken into custody, however. The suspect was identified as 24 year old Giovonni Davis. He admitted in an interview that he had also robbed the Metro Mart. The cash taken from all three crimes was recovered.
