An Evansdale woman’s scratch ticket win in November is now at the center of a Lottery Fraud case, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 63 year old Sandra Crow turned in a top prize winning Candy Cane Crossword scratch ticket at the Iowa Lottery’s regional office in Cedar Rapids on November 7th. The ticket had been purchased at the Kwik Star on Fletcher Avenue in Waterloo. Crow elected to take the lump sum for the $30,000 winning ticket, which was $21,300. A month later police were called to a disturbance at Crow’s residence where she lived with 45 year old Alvin Larsen III. The two were arguing about the money from the ticket. After the police conducted interviews they allege that Larsen was the owner of the ticket but had Crow turn it in so that the winnings would not be used to pay his outstanding bills. They have both been charged with Lottery Fraud. Crow has been released from jail. Larsen in being held on a $5,000 bond.
