A Waterloo man has died after going into the Cedar River on Wednesday, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. The man, who was only identified as a 67 year old Waterloo man, entered the river sometime around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. A motorist noticed the man as she drove over the Mullan Avenue bridge and alerted authorities. The man went over the dam near the Fourth Street bridge and under log debris floating in the water. A firefighter was able to pull the man ashore just past the 11th Street bridge. Rescue worker performed CPR but he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
